The short version
Your collection stays on your devices. Kabynyt does not collect, transmit, or sell your data. There are no third-party trackers in the app.
What stays on-device
Every item you add — photos, notes, prices, metadata — is stored in SwiftData on your iPhone or iPad. If you have iCloud enabled, it syncs through your private CloudKit container to your other iOS devices. Apple cannot read this data; Kabynyt cannot read this data; nobody but you can read this data.
AI photo identification
When you ask Kabynyt to identify a collectible from a photo, the photo is sent to Google's Gemini 3.5 Flash model for analysis. Kabynyt does not see this traffic — the request goes from your device directly to Google with the Gemini API key bundled in the app (or your own key, if you supplied one in Settings). Google's privacy policy governs how Gemini processes the request. Photos are not retained by Kabynyt and are not used to train any model.
Barcode lookups
When you scan a barcode, the barcode value is sent to Google's Gemini 3.5 Flash model for a deep lookup that returns title, manufacturer, year, and market price range in one request. No identifying information about you or your device is sent — only the barcode digits.
